The
Blowgun
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Hier
sitzt Herr Bartelmann im Frei'n
Und
taucht sich eine Brezel ein.
|
Here
sits old
Bartelmann a'sipping
His tea, in which a crust he's dipping.
|
|
Der
Franz mit seinem Pusterohr
Schießt
Bartelmann ans linke Ohr.
|
Franz
with
his blowgun standing near
Hits
Bartelmann upon the ear.
|
|
Ei,
Zapperment, so denkt sich der,
Das
kam ja wohl von unten her,
|
Good
gracious
me, so thinketh he,
From
under here it sure must be,
|
|
Doch
nein-denkt er-, es kann nicht sein!
Und
taucht die Brezel wieder ein.
|
Oh
no, thinks
he, this cannot be
And dips his pretzel in his tea.
|
|
Und-witsch-getroffen
ist die Brezen,
Herrn
Bartelmann erfaßt Entsetzen.
|
Pop-from
his
hand the crust is flying,
Old
Bertelmann of fright's near dying.
|
|
Und-witsch-jetzt
trifft die Kugel gar
Das
Aug', das sehr empfindlich war.
|
Then
at his
eye Franz aimed a dart;
Which
made it sorely ache and smart.
|
|
So
daß dem braven Bartelmann
Die
Träne aus dem Auge rann.
|
So
that the
tears all swiftly ran
Down
cheeks of old Bartelmann.
|
|
Ei,
Zapperment-so denkt sich der-.
Das
kommt ja wohl von oben her!-
|
Good
gracious
me, so thinketh he -.
From
up above it sure must be!
|
|
Aujau!
Er fällt-denn mit Geblase
Schießt Franz den Pfeil ihm in die Nase
|
Oh
no! he
falls - for hurry scurry
Franz
hits his nose in greatest flurry.
|
|
Da
denkt Herr Bartelmann: Aha!
Dies
spitze Ding, das kenn' ich ja!
|
See
now he
sparklest at the thought;
Behind
the fence the rascal's caught.
|
|
Und
freudig kommt ihm der Gedanke:
Der
Franz steht hinter dieser Planke!
|
When
Bartelmann the dart espies,
An
old acquaintance greets his eyes.
|
|
Und-klapp!
schlägt er mit seinem Topf
Das
Pusterohr tief in den Kopf!
|
With
coffee-pot he now doth gloat
To
drive the popgun down Frank's throat!
|
|
Drum
schieß mit deinem Püstericht
Auf
keine alten Leute nicht!
|
Take
warning
hence, you naughty chicks,
On
older folks play no more tricks!
